How can a person travel by air within India in case he/she does not have any identification proof ? Any alternate option ?
In most Indian airports you won’t get through the door into the airport main hall without a valid ticket and/or identication,let alone fly. The doors are guarded by police with rifles,handguns,or shotguns,and they check everone who tries to enter. Even travelling by train over a long distance requires you to fill out a form with your personal details,and identification is normally asked for. These are security measures,and there is no way round them without breaking the law. You would need to find out how to get identication papers from your local city council. There will be a fee to pay for the papers,which may be 50 Rupees or more,and there will be a waiting time of a few days to a few weeks depending on the efficiency and work-load of your local office.Your nearest police station would probably be able to tell you which local government office you need to visit to get the papers,or to get an identity card.
