I saw this vid on youtube and the description said my dog is specially trained do not let your chinchilla roam free with an untrained dog. And i kinda want to snuggle w/ him/her on the couch while i’m watching tv without having to worry if gryffon will eat it.
I wouldnt say train, but i would try this. Keep a very close eye on both your chinchilla and dog. if your dog ever looks like he is going to "Eat" it, yell NO, and shove him away from the chinchilla. after a while he might say, "im not supposed to eat that." if he continues, keep him on a leash and if it happens again, jerk the leash and say no. otherwise keep them as far away from each other as possible! lol
Is it possible to train my labradoodle gryffon not to eat my new chinchilla?

Just crate you dog or close him into another room. It’s not safe to "train" a dog not to eat an animal. I had a bad experience with a dog and a baby rat… You don’t want that to happen to your chin.

yes if your dog if very tamed it is possible. i taught my dog not to eat my hamster while its on him or roaming around. just firm say no to him and bring the chinchilla up close and if he tries to bite pinch his ear ( my dog trainer told us to do that) and keep trying but if u are not ready just let the chinchilla in a differ place.
